Superintendents / Industry Reps Golf Day Print E-mail


You and your course staff are invited
to a day of golf and camaraderie at the
Meadow Lake Golf Club on Wednesday, July 14th, 2010.

Tee Times will begin at 12:00 p.m. The fee for the day is $35.00, which will include 18 holes of golf, a power cart, and a meal. In attendance will be in area superintendents, golf course staff and industry reps. Please inform any fellow superintendents that I may have missed. If you have a preferred foursome or partner please specify when you reply.

In Memoriam Print E-mail

Edward Alexander Maginnis

Ed was born in Ottawa, Ontario April 19th 1933. He attended Macdonald College in Montreal, receiving his Bsc in 1956. From 1957 to 1964 he attended Cornell University receiving his Msc and PhD in 1964.

Ed joined the faculty at the University of Saskatchewan as Professor of Horticultural Science, teaching and conducting research for 36 years. He had a special interest in turf grass growth and maintenance. He was an honorary member of the Saskatchewan Turfgrass Association and the group's Executive Director for a number of years.

Ed had many interests related to Horticulture and was always willing to give advice to fellow horticulturalists who had problems. He was a good person and will be missed by his many friends in Saskatoon and Ottawa.

The members of the Saskatchewan Turfgrass Association wish to express their sincere sympathy to Ed's wife Bev, his children and grandchildren.

To All Turf Managers

My name is Don Campbell. I am the Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Turfgrass Association. We as an association encourage and promote research in the turfgrass industry, as well as the exchange of ideas among turfgrass professionals.

Membership allows you to become an active participate in our association. In addition, you will receive a monthly newsletter which complements all the latest news and information related to maintenance and management of turfgrass found on this website.

The STA also sponsors seminars, usually in the spring and fall. The cost of these sessions is minimal to attract all the turf managers in the province. From time to time the STA sponsors a two day Turf Conference and Trade Show at a reasonable cost. These events are extremely informative and your attendance will be important to your club and yourself as a turf professional.

Improve your image as a turfgrass manager by submitting your membership dues and become part of the Saskatchewan Turfgrass Association. Please fill out the important information on the Membership Application Form and return it to us with your membership cheque.

The Cutting Edge: The Importance of Proper Equipment Maintenance

This CGSA sponsored event will be held in Saskatoon March 30, 2010 at the Riverside Country Club. The seminar will be conducted by Eddie Konrad.

Cost for STA members will be $105.00 for the day. Non STA members’ registration will be $309.75 (includes GST).

This seminar will feature various topics of interest to ensure that your turf looks its best. Topics include:
