Saskatoon School of Horticulture is a new vocational school offering certificates and diplomas in horticulture. Currently we are informing industry on this new educational opportunity in Saskatchewan. Below is some brief information on the school and the potential career opportunities:
Program Description:
A diploma or certificate from the School of Horticulture will bring
together the academic and practical strengths only achieved through the
right balance of academic and workplace learning. You will develop the
knowledge and skills that are essential to succeed in all parts of the
landscape industry.
A Certificate in Horticulture will give you the basic skills to enter into the landscape industry at a higher level. Better yet, the curriculum is designed in modules so will easily fit a variety of needs for the student. Successful completion of a module will allow students to easily further their education by building on the level of education completed. Those students who have received a certificate can expand that knowledge base by simply registering for Year 2 of the program and easily complete the required courses to convert their certificate into a diploma.
Receiving your educational training at the School of Horticulture will give you the competitive advantage to ensure success in your future in the field of horticulture.
Career Opportunities:
A diploma or certificate from the School of Horticulture will help to prepare you to have a fulfilling career in the growing field of horticulture. The nursery, landscaping, turf and floriculture industry are growing at a rapid pace. This growing industry has many positions available and as a graduate you may gain employment as:

Saskatchewan's Turfgrass Association, founded in 1979, is a non-profit organization. The S.T.A. was organized by a group of Turfgrass Professionals which has grown to include people from Parks, Golf Courses, Sod Growers, Cities and Commercial Companies.
