June 2024

The weather in June has continued to be lower than normal. June 15 weekend we had lows of 1º in Saskatoon with a hint of frost along with an inch of rain, but it looks like things are getting close to normal now. Most courses with damage are healing but still a ways to go.

40 people attended the Summer Field Day at the Lynbrook Golf Course in Moose Jaw. Matt Legg gave a great seminar on The Art of Application and many favourable comments were heard. Owen Morhart had the course in great condition and about 30 golfers played in 60 km winds.

It’s 2 months until the Don Campbell Research Tournament in Price Albert at the Cooke Municipal. Please register early to help up with planning as it’s likely to sell out. This tournament is always a good time with lots of fellowship and is our largest fund raiser for Turfgrass Research. – REGISTRATION DEADLINE AUGUST 12 (FIRM).

Mark you calendar for November 5 & 6 for the Fall Windup in Saskatoon at the Saskatoon Golf & Country Club.  The speaker program is almost finalized and will be an excellent educational opportunity.

See you in Prince Albert!
