Here at Riverside the stress from the dry weather has certainly impacted the trees on the golf course. 30-40 year old birch trees dying off, elm and maple trees going to seed like crazy and mature spruce trees dying back.
Attendance was decent at the Equipment Field Day with just over 50 attendees. I know we are all busy this time of year, but please try to make the effort to attend these events to help support our association, gain education credits, and participate in networking opportunities for yourself. Thanks go out to Marc Robert for organizing this event. The venue, educational talks, food and equipment show were great, with approximately 30 people playing the executive 9 at Holiday Park after. Way to go Marco!
Plans are being finalized for the Don Campbell Research Tournament on August 20/21 at the Legends Golf Club in Warman, hosted by Matt Choquette. Matt and Brandon are organizing another fun event, so make sure you register early as I’m sure it will be a sell-out. The Legends is a great fun golf course, always maintained in top condition. This is the first year the Skins game the day before is an official STA event, along with the Oakcreek Shootout the evening of the 20th.
As we enter the “Dog Days” of summer, hopefully we keep getting some timely rainfall. I’m looking forward to seeing everybody in Warman at the Research Tournament and remember, only 4 months til closeup!
