April 2024

It certainly has been a typical Saskatchewan spring. Above-normal temps then cool, snow, back to warm and now cool with rain in the forecast. The only consistent thing has been the wind.

Most courses in central and southern Saskatchewan are open now with most northern courses opening soon. Conditions around the province vary, but there has been some reports of ice damage as well as some desiccation issues. At Riverside we have a combination of ice damage and desiccation and have spent the past 10 days overseeding greens and fairways.  Hopefully Mother Nature cooperates with some moisture and warmer weather to help anyone with damage heal quickly.

Mark you calendars for the Summer Field Day at the Lynbrook Golf Club in Moose Jaw on June 13 and the Don Campbell Research Tournament at the Cooke Municipal Golf Course in Prince Albert on August 22. Please sign up as soon as registration info is sent out to help with the planning of these events and to avoid disappointment if you miss the deadline.

Good luck this spring. Hope to see everyone at the upcoming events this summer
