It’s hard to believe that next week is September and soon we begin preparing courses for winter.  All courses continue to be very busy with things looking like it will stay that way for September and October.

With tee times being packed and very little in the way of events all the days seem to just run into one another.  I find it has been extremely difficult to get the “extras” done with the course being so busy.

We had a very successful Don Campbell Research Cup, raising over $5,000 to go towards turfgrass research.  Many  thanks go out to everyone who participated in this scaled back event and it was just great to be out seeing everyone.  Special thanks go to our sponsors who really stepped up once again in supporting us.  They contribute so much to make our association great, so thank you to our GOLD LEVEL SPONSORS Oakcreek, Target Specialty Products, Early’s Farm & Garden, Syngenta, Consolidated Supply and Rainbird, Martin Deerline, Brett Young, and our SILVER LEVEL SPONSOR Clarks Supply.

Also a great thank you to our host Kent Plumer and Brad Vinnick at Greenbryre Golf & Country Club.  Course was in fantastic condition, Kent’s team have worked hard this year and the results sure show! Also thanks to the F&B staff who served us a great meal!

With the current restrictions, we are still uncertain about the Fall Windup.  At the very least we will have some sort of AGM which we may have in Zoom form.  We will keep everyone posted.  As well, we are looking into the possibility of online seminars to ensure our members can access CEU’s towards retaining their pesticide licenses, etc.

I know I am looking forward to the end of this season, but also hoping for a great fall to put the course to bed and let our golfers enjoy the remainder of the year.

Take care,
- Doug
