August 2021

The hot dry weather has continued into mid August, although it looks as if we are cooling down this upcoming week. By August 3 we had pumped as many gallons of water as we did all of last season, but at least we have had a couple light rains totalling about 14 mm, which did help out.

At the moment although COVID cases are rising again, it is great to be getting closer to “normal”. At Riverside we hosted our first tournament since 2019. It was fun to do something different for a change and see some fresh faces on the course.

It is looking like it will be a very successful Don Campbell Research Tournament, with 100 golfers already registered. Don’t miss out on this fun event with a worthwhile cause. We need to confirm numbers for meals, so don’t be disappointed, and sign up this week.

Congratulations go out to Bruce Klaassen and Blaine Fagnou for being inducted to the Saskatchewan Golf Hall of Fame.  Both are very deserving inductees and it is great to see people on our side of the industry being recognized for their great contributions.

Looking forward to seeing everyone next wee at Jackfish!
