Here we are in the dog days of August.  It’s been a long grind, we are starting to lose daylight, we are losing patience with the golfers and the summer staff who are all leaving to go back to school over the next 2 weeks.  September and early October is my favourite time of the golf season, with cooler nights, pleasant temperatures with usually ideal turf conditions and contrast with changing colours.

This past Tuesday was a very successful Don Campbell Research Tournament at the Harbor Golf Club in Elbow.  It was a beautiful day with just over 90 golfers.  Special thanks go out to Anita, Rhett, and superintendent Rick and their teams for being so organized, course conditions were fantastic and the food was great!  Congratulations go out to the host club who used their local knowledge to win at minus 11!

On Monday a skins game was held at Dakota Dunes.  It was also a beautiful afternoon with 40 golfers.  Thanks to Tyler for hosting this event and all the hard work put into both events by Kim, Marco, Tyler and Brandon.  Looking forward to next year’s events.

We are currently in the planning stage for the year end wind up which will be held in Saskatoon in November.

Good luck with the rest of your summer and hope to see you at the Fall Wind Up.
