July 2022

From all reports I hear around the province, golf courses seem to be all recording above average rounds of golf.  As I was getting ready for work this morning I noticed how much darker it’s getting, then I realized there’s under 100 days of golf left in the season.  Thank Goodness!

Along with the improved weather and rain we have had in the Saskatoon area, courses are improving but still have a ways to go in terms of total recovery.

I just heard the news that Ken Lintott at Nipawin Evergreen Golf Course is retiring after 30+ years of dedicated service.  Ken is a credit to our profession and we all wish him the best in the future.

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at the Don Campbell Research Championship at Greenbryre on August 20 in Saskatoon.  Remember to register early because with COVID restrictions, the field will be limited to the first 72 golfers registered.  Registration will close on August 12—NO EXCEPTIONS.  The event will be starting continuously at 8:30 am and will be a 12 hole event.  I know it’s been a difficult year, but I hope you can make it.

The Fall Windup is still booked at the Saskatoon Golf & Country Club on November 17 & 18 or 18 & 19 (depending on speaker availability).  Unless the COVID restrictions of maximum 30 people inside are changed, then potentially we will have to cancel the AGM and Fall Windup.

I hope everyone has a successful rest of the summer and stays healthy.

Take care,  - Doug
