It seems like we were just preparing to open the golf courses and now fall is just around the corner.  Hopefully the weather this year will be more favourable than last year this fall.

The Don Campbell Research Tournament at Deer Valley was very successful with 112 golfers on an extremely windy day.  Thanks to John Greenough, his Pro Shop and Clubhouse staff for the great hospitality and service.  Brian Oates and his staff did an amazing job of preparing the golf course, and it was a great test.  Thank you for helping us raise close to $10,000 which will be earmarked for the Turf Research and our education programs.  The Skins game at Green Acres in Balgonie was a beautiful and fun day for 30 golfers.  Richard and Trevor Kolb run a fantastic course there—Thank you for hosting us!

On a sombre note, the STA would like to offer our sincere condolences to the Kupchanko family on the sudden passing our esteemed colleague and friend Mike Kupchanko on Thursday August 22 in Regina SK: https://speersfuneralchapel.com/tribute/details/9309/Michael-Kupchanko/obituary.html

Plans are underway for the Fall Windup which will be held in Saskatoon at the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club in early November.  We will have a great education program, along with the AGM and networking opportunities.  If anyone has ideas for speakers, please be sure to contact me as early as possible.

I hope everyone has had a great summer and wish everyone luck in putting golf courses to bed for the winter.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Fall Windup!
